The Maribyrnong Package 1 project, commissioned by the Maribyrnong City Council, focuses on the comprehensive road reconstruction of Avoca Street in Yarraville. The project involves the demolition and earthworks of the existing road surface, followed by the installation of a new, robust pavement base and subgrade.
Key construction activities include the installation of drainage systems and pits, ensuring effective stormwater management. The project also features the reconstruction of kerbs and channels, utilizing retained bluestone from the excavation to maintain the area’s historical character.
In addition, the project encompasses the construction of footpaths, pram and vehicle crossings, and the application of a new asphalt surface. The work is completed with precise line marking, the installation of new signage, and the reinstatement of nature strips, ensuring a safe and aesthetically pleasing streetscape.
